I Have Messed Up. Can I Change?
What is happening?
Yes. That is the honest answer. People change. It is not easy, it is not quick, and it does not erase what has happened — but it is real, and it is possible.
What may be underneath it?
The question of whether you can change is often really a question about whether you deserve to. Whether the people around you will let you. Whether the version of yourself you have been is the only version available. None of those things are fixed.
What makes things worse?
Believing that who you have been is who you are. Surrounding yourself only with people who expect you to stay the same. Trying to change everything at once and giving up when it is hard.
What can help?
Start with one thing. One decision, one relationship, one habit. Change is built in small moments, not in grand gestures. Find people who believe in the version of you that you want to become — and spend time with them.
Decision Corridor
Between who you have been and who you could be, there is a space. That space is the Decision Corridor. What you do in it is up to you.
